 화학 물질 분석법의 하나로 헬륨이나 수소 등의 기체를 유량을 일정하게 유지하면서 흘려놓고 시료를 주입하면, 가열 기화되어 활성알루미나나 실리카겔을 충전한 Column을 통과하는 사이에 이동 속도의 차가 생겨 각 성분이 분리되어 나옵니다. 이것을 열전도도나 적외선 흡수 등의 측정 방법에 의해 검출하여 정량합니다. 기체 또는 기화하기 쉬운 액체나 고체의 유기화합물 분석에 적합합니다.
